The Department’s 2009 Graduate Student Orientation was held at Schroeder Hall Room 242 on August 14. The Orientation was led by Dr. Julie Webber, Director of the Department’s Graduate Program. The topics covered in the morning sessions include an overview of the Program, an introduction of the curriculum, the rights and responsibilities of the GAs and requirements for graduation. The session also introduced the processes and resources of the University and Department available to the graduate assistants. A number of professors attended the session to describe their current research interests. Political Science Subject Librarian Chad Kahl made a presentation on the library resources. After a lunch with faculty members at the Department conference room, several current students made presentations at the orientation. The students include Russell Godwin and Adrian Marquez.
